Game Recap

Another key KLAA match for us trying to keep pace with Brighton was at Milford which is always a tough place to play against a quality opponent. I couldn’t have been happier with our play and focus for this match as we came away with (2) goals in each half for the 4-0 win. Muaz Asperger scored both 1st half goals with assists from Mohamed Ali. Seth Miller scored off a corner kick from Brandon Dellaposta and Muaz would complete his hat-trick with an assist from Conor Dellorso for the final 4-0 score. Bennett Stokes made (6) saves for the shutout.

Meet Recap

The Bobcats succeeded in earning their 10th consecutive title at the Genesee County Invitational Thursday, Sept 22 through Saturday, September 24 at Brandon High School. The Finals competition on Saturday was a thrilling day of close races and great performances.

The Lady Bobcats started the morning off with an exciting, record setting win in the 200 Medley Relay. The relay team of Lindsey Sieloff, Amanda Quitos, Molly Roberts, and Emma Curtis broke both the meet and Brandon pool records while earning their D1 State Championship qualification with a time of 1:53.32. The Fenton Tigers took the lead over the Bobcats during the 200 Freestyle and maintained it through the 200 Individual Medley. Grand Blanc recaptured the lead after the 50 Freestyle and stayed on top for the remainder of the meet.

The team set records in 4 other events. The 200 Freestyle Relay team of Emma Curtis, Stacey Sandy, Amanda Quitos, and Zoe Rogers broke both the meet and pool records and earned it’s State Championship qualification with a 1:41.91. While leading off the relay Emma Curtis broke the 50 Freestyle records for the meet and the pool with a time of 24.16. She also broke the 100 Freestyle records during her lead off of the 400 Freestyle Relay with a 53.87. Amanda Quitos set a Brandon High School pool record in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:10.81. Another Bobcat champion was Megan Sieloff in the 500 Freestyle with a MISCA qualification time of 5:38.78.

The meet ended with the most nerve rattling race in the 400 Freestyle Relay between Grand Blanc and Fenton. Emma Curtis’ record setting start got the Bobcats out to a good lead, but the Tigers were able to fight their way back to make it a neck-and-neck race as the anchors entered the water for the last 100 yards. Grand Blanc sophomore, Zoe Rogers, and Fenton sophomore, Caitlyn Dailey, battled it out staying side by side throughout the swim and Rogers was able to out-touch Dailey by 2 hundredths of a second to give the Bobcats the victory.

MISCA qualifications:
Sara Andrykovich – 100 Breaststroke
Emma Curtis – 100 Backstroke
Hallie Pruitte – 200 Freestyle & 100 Freestyle
Amanda Quitos – 100 Breaststroke
