The Grand Blanc Bobcats Varsity Hockey team hosted the Southgate Anderson Titans after the long Holiday Break on Saturday looking to shake off the Christmas rust. Unfortunately for the host Bobcats, the Titans were more prepared early. The Titans jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 13:56 mark on a power play and then added a second tally just over 2 minutes later again on the power play to take a 2-0 lead. The Bobcats finally answered when Trey Peterson found the back of the net with only a second left on the 1st period clock to send the teams to the locker room with the Bobcats trailing 2-1. Both Alex Mosqueda and Rylie Edmonds were credited with assists on the Peterson goal.

In the second period the Bobcats seem to come to life a bit when Peterson netted his second of the game on helpers from Edmonds and Ryan Haden to knot the score 2-2. The Titans would answer and take a 3-2 just 2 minutes later in a back and forth contest. But the Bobcats would not be denied and again tied the score 3-3 when Hunter Bankstahl netted his first goal of the season on a feed from Hayden Rose. In the third period, the Bobcats scored a pair to take a 5-3 lead when Alex Mosqueda tallied from Peterson and Michael Heiberger just before a Power Play goal from Hayden Seguin which was assisted by Edmonds and Ryan Groleau. The Bobcats then had to hang on as the Titans came back with another to make it 5-4 but Luc Roberts was solid in net for the victory stopping 32 of the 36 shots directed at the Bobcats net minder including the frantic finish with the Titans goaltender pulled to preserve the victory.

On Wednesday night the Bobcats traveled to #22 Midland Dow in a league game where they were beaten in 2 periods 10-1. Mitchell Gorney scored the lone goal for the over matched Bobcats on an unassisted breakaway. Both Roberts and Nick Hensley split time in net getting peppered with a team high 44 shots on goal in the 2 periods.

The Bobcats will look to rebound this coming Saturday at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center against the Oxford Avondale squad that defeated the Bobcats in their rink earlier this season 3-0. The Bobcats will be looking to avenge that loss with a better effort Saturday.
