Bobcats News · Turnbow: Grand Blanc HS Wrestler Milestone Victory


GBHS Varsity Wrestler, Jackson Turnbow, earned his 100th Varsity win and 55th career pin on Saturday, December 14th in the Herm Wilkinson Highlander Classic at Howell HS.

Jackson is a Senior on the Varsity Wrestling Team and has been a four year starter for the Bobcats.  He has earned All-County and All-Conference all three year.   During his sophomore and junior seasons, Jackson was named team captain of the varsity wrestling team and qualified for the MHSAA Regional Championship.  One of the highlights of his wrestling career was helping his team win the 2019 MHSAA Team District Championship.

This will be Jackson’s final season on the wrestling mat, as he has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his running career at Northwood University, where he will study business after earning direct admittance to Northwood University’s four year, honors, MBA program.

Including the three varsity letters Jackson has earned in wrestling, he has been a Grand Blanc Varsity letterman ten times entering his Senior wrestling season.  He has earned four varsity letters in Cross Country, where he was a team captain, three time MHSAA State Qualifier, achieved KLAA All-Conference and earned first team SVL All-Conference honors two years.  As a member of the GBHS track team, Jackson has earned three varsity letters, earned All-Conference honors (KLAA & SVL) three times (3 consecutive Team Championships) and is a two-time MHSAA State Qualifier, where earned All-State and Academic All-State honors, helping the GB Varsity Track team finish as the 3rd place team in the 2018 MHSAA State Championship.
