Boys Golf Team had a wonderful closure to our season with our banquet at Warwick Hills last evening. Both Andy Wolfe (JV Coach) and I couldn’t say enough kind words about the players and their supportive/helpful parents.
I am exceptionally proud of our Varsity Team this year. Technically, a “rebuilding year,” after graduating 5 seniors which all played in State Finals. Yet, these boys challenged themselves to become better. The Result was another D-1 Regional championship, and 15th place among all Division 1 Boys Golf Teams in the State of Michigan. We earned second place at Detroit’s Red Run with most of the best teams in Michigan [very good day for the Bobcats!]. We are Division 1 Champions in Genesee County. Obviously, the boys met the challenge. What is more important, this is perhaps the team that showed the most character, kindness, responsibility, and sportsmanship, and true appreciation for each other, parents, and coaches. I will look back upon Spring of 2019 with fond memories. No one ever complained that it rained 14 of our 16 events, because what mattered was each other.
