Girls Varsity Softball · Grand Blanc Varsity Softball

Two teamed up to give us a shutout victory against Carman-Ainsworth in our last league game 9-0.  In the first inning Kendall Klochack singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.  She went 4 for 4 in the game.  In the fourth inning Paige Petrusha, LaNya Bates, and Klochack each moved runners across the plate with RBIs.  Klochack was the winning pitcher with Olivia Bainbridge behind the plate allowing one hit, zero runs in six innings, striking out 19, and walking one.  Megan Martin came in as relief.  GB defense did not commit one single error.

Game two had three pitchers combine in a victory over C/A 16-1.  LaNya Bates led Grand Blanc by driving in four runs.  She had a single in the third and a triple in the fourth.  We got our offense started in inning one with Kendall Klochack’s single.  In the fourth inning Bates, Brie Broderick, Megan Martin, and Jazzy Carroll all drove in runs.  Klochack, Martin, and Abby Whitt all pitched this game.  We collected 12 hits on the day.  Klochack, Broderick, Bates, and Martin all managed a couple each.

The big excitement afterwards was the realization that we ended a 6 year drought for league championships by taking one home last night!

We are now 22-9 and SVL South League Champions.  We have a home game Tuesday against Holly and Wednesday is a scrimmage to Strikeout Cancer with Powers and Davison at MCC.
