Kendall Klochack threw her fourth shutout game Wednesday night to lead Grand Blanc Varsity softball in a 10-0 win over Lapeer. She surrendered zero runs on zero hits over six innings striking out 14 and walking zero. We racked up four runs in the fifth inning. Megan Martin, Rebecca Oetting, Annabelle Morningstar, and LaNya Bates each had RBIs. Our 13 hits for the game came from multiple hits by Klochack, Olivia Bainbridge, and Oetting. Bainbridge and Klochack had three hits to lead GB. There were zero defensive errors made by the Bobcats. Kendall Klochack has racked up an outstanding 106 strikeouts so far for this season.
Megan Matin was the winning pitcher in game two. She allowed 12 hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one to help us win 9-5 over Lapeer. LaNya Bates helped lead the way for Grand Blanc when she singled in the firs, singled in the third, singled in the fourth, and singled in the sixth. We tallied 11 hits in the game with multiple hits from Bates and Annalise Anderson. Huge putouts were made by Gracie Murray’s throw from second to McKenzie Simpson at third making a forceful tag. LaNya Bates hurtled one home from deep centerfield to Olivia Bainbridge at home who put down a massive tag.
Both games, these girls played with grit, courage, and as a family. I’m super proud of all of their efforts.
Our record is now 9-4.
Next week we have our Senior Game at home against Detroit Country Day on Tuesday. Thursday we take on rivals Davison at home.
