The Grand Blanc Bobcats returned home from a road trip to face the Carrelton Airport Jets at Dort Federal Credit Union Arena on Saturday looking to get back to the positive side of the scoreboard..


The Bobcats got rolling early on a pair of goals from scoring leader Garrett Lesser who scored an unassisted goal at the 10:29 mark and then tallied again just under a minute later at the 9:31 mark on a feed from line mate Owen Walker to take a 2-0 lead. Carrelton would answer with a pair to know the contest 2-2.

The Bobcats returned serve with a goal by Walker at the 6:00 mark on feeds from Nick Gorney and Jacob Strickland and then again at the 2:08 mark when Sophomore forward Alex Mosqueda scored his first Varsity goal on assists from Lesser and Walker to put the Bobcats ahead after one period 4-2.


In the second period…the Bobcats again opened the scoring with a goal from Joshua Griffel at the 13:53 mark on a feed from behind the net from Kieran Howard to put the Bobcats up 5-2 before the wheels started to come off a bit.

The Jets answered with 4 unanswered goals to take a 6-5 lead before the Bobcats knotted the score at 6-6 when Owen Walker tallied his second goal on a feed from Lesser to end the second period 6-6.


In the third, the Jets came out flying and scored the first three goals to take a 9-6 lead before Nick Gorney tallied unassisted to draw the Bobcats within a pair. Garrett Lesser completed the Hat Trick at the 6:43 mark on assists from Hayden Seguin and Walker to pull the Bobcats within a 9-8 game…but the determined Jets answered with another goal 3 minutes later and then added an empty netter to finish the Bobcats off 11-8. The Goaltending duties were split between Andrew Braum and Alexi Francoeur who together faced a total of 36 shots.

The loss drops the Bobcats season record to 7-14-1 with an upcoming KLAA Crossover game versus Canton on Tuesday night at Dort Federal Credit Union Arena…and then the Bobcats will celebrate Senior Night on Saturday 2/24/2018 with a noon start against SCF before the Pre-Regional games start the following week.
