Grand Blanc Boys Varsity Golf Team achieved one early season goal Monday May 9th in winning the Genesee County Area Tournament held at Flint Elks Club.  On a sunny-pleasant 63* Spring day, the Bobcats captured low score among a 21-team field of area high schools.  Grand Blanc won the Division 1 and Overall championship with a score of 310, followed by Goodrich Division 2 champs with 318, and Powers Catholic Division 3 victors at 320.  Bobcats were led by Junior Austin Belcher with a handy 75, followed by GB Seniors Noah Troyer and Logan Price both with 77, and Zack Hopkins’ 81 in the play 5 count 4 format.  Austin, Noah, and Logan earned area top 10 honors with their scores behind medalist Joe Montpass from Flushing shooting a torrid 70, two under par.  This is the second team victory of the Bobcat’s season.

The Grand Blanc Boys Golf Team enjoyed a prosperous week, finishing with a KLAA conference victory over always competitive, Hartland Eagles at Warwick Hills of Grand Blanc.  The score came down to the final player in the match, with the Host Bobcats posting a 160-163 Win.   Medalist was Grand Blanc’s Zack Hopkins with a 38.  Shooting a smooth 40 was Austin Belcher, followed by 41’s for Trevor Bailey and Logan Price, and Nick Bruett in the play 6 count four format.  Although the warmth of 63* sunshine was present, the gusty north winds played havoc with player’s shots.
