Game Recap

The Grand Blanc Girls JV Soccer team traveled to Saginaw for the Heritage High School Soccer Tournament. They played three quality opponents on the day winning all three games.

Game one was against Troy Athens and was won by a score of 2-1. Freshman Bella Sabo scored on an assist from Freshman Kelsey Dunn. Freshman Madison McKay added the second on a nice head ball off a corner kick from Freshman Alex Heeke. Troy Athens had a chance to tie the game on a late penalty kick but Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Bryan made a big save to seal the win.

In game two the girls took on Northville and played really well wining 3-0. Bella Sabo continued her scoring with two goals, one of which was assisted by Sophomore Mariah Foote. Sabo also added an assist on the third goal which was scored by Freshman Kelsey Dunn. Taylor Bryan made five saves to earn the shut out in goal.

Game three saw the Bobcats take on Bay City Western. The girls finished off a long day with a strong 4-0 victory. Bella Sabo capped off her big day scoring a goal and adding an assist. Fellow Freshmen Madison McKay and Caitlin Rose scored goals as well Junior Kyleigh Moughler. Assists were delivered by Junior Sophia Margaritis, Sophomore Tayler Harms and Freshmen Sam Edgcombe and Alex Heeke. Taylor Bryan and Mariah Foote combined to make four saves in goal for the shut out.

The wins improve the girls overall record to 5-3. They return home Tuesday night to take on Brighton.
