Grand Blanc Varsity Golfers finished in 3rd Place out of a highly competitive field of 25 Teams.  The Suntel Invitational was held at Royal Oak’s Red Run Country Club on a gorgeous 75* sunny day on Monday April 18th.  The Bobcats shot 305, just six strokes in back of powerhouse Detroit Catholic Central’s 299, and two strokes behind Gross Pointe South’s 303.  Leading the Bobcats was Logan Price, shooting par 72, which was one stroke off tournament medalist honors.  Sophomore Zack Hopkins scored 73, earning top-ten tournament honors.  Junior Austin Belcher scored 78, which placed him in elite group of players breaking the 80 mark.  Noah Troyer contributed 82 rounding out the 305 for the Bobcat’s scoring.   The course played tough, and long in the wind, which dried out the greens and kept a speedy pace to all putts.    Today began the 2016 season for the Bobcat Golfers, and although there is work to be done, the Cats let their presence known among some of the best teams in the state.
